So Hello from the other side,

What if we existed during a time when there was no colour? Just a monochrome world. No colour to differentiate people and no reason to make someone feel inferior or superior. What a wonderful world it would be!

When you photograph people in colour, you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in Black and white, you photograph their souls!” ― Ted Grant.

There’s something about this quote that touches my heart every time I read it. In fact, the meaning of it sinks deeper the more you read it. I personally believe in the above quote and I’m sure you will too. When you see coloured pictures, the first thing you will notice is the way a person is dressed or the location where it’s shot. But, when you are handed a black and white picture, you tend to look for emotions. You search for some signs to detect the mood of the person being photographed. Black and white pictures hold a greater significance. A significance that most of the people overlook. It holds and tries to scream out the emotions to you. That’s the beauty of black and white pictures.

With everyone being so forward and with rational thinking, why are some people still stuck on racism? Colors are to make the world a happier and beautiful place to live in. Why do we still differentiate on the basis on a person’s skin color? What if the world was black and white? I think, it would have been a better place.

I think it’s because it was an emotional story, and emotions come through much stronger in black and white. Colour is distracting in a way, it pleases the eye but it doesn’t necessarily reach the heart.” ― Kim Hunter
