Welcome to 2017! Every new year calls for new styles, trends and fashion! That’s what is so exhilarating every year, it’s almost like a mystery, you never know for sure what the fashion industry has ahead of you! One can only expect what ensembles are to be carried from the former year into the current one, obviously guesstimating, while trying not to be hackneyed. With that said, I wish you have the best year yet filled with loads of fashion and fun.

Today, I’m listing out my favorite trends from 2016 that I think are worthy enough to be incorporated in upcoming 2017 fashion , whether on the runway or the streets. I have 3 outfits styled around these trends along with inspiration pictures (mostly of kendall’s street style bc goals). I thought a post pretty much wrapping up 2016 fashion and saying farewell to it would be a must,so here it is! Buckle up, as this is going to be a long one!

Mesh

My take on it

Mesh is certainly one of the most popular trends to follow. A great way to style it is to wear a bralette and a long necklace under. That’s what I’ve done with my outfit, this beautiful piece features flared sleeves and a tight high neck, making it the perfect mesh top. I was getting total bad girl vibes from this outfit, so I topped it off with a half up bun hairstyle to complete it.

II

Western Buckle Belts

Bag – Rebecca Minkoff

This trend has been around for many years now, and I totally understand why. Belts can do so much for any outfit, imagine my outfit without the belt, it would be super boring and wouldn’t stand out. Buckle belts probably won’t ever go out of style. I love the look of these belts with mom jeans and chunky boots. My all black ensemble surely wouldn’t be complete without this piece.

III

Faux Fur

There are so many ways to wear faux fur, from coats to shoes, it looks great incorporated in any ensemble. If worn the right way, it can make you look instantaneously classy and chique. I chose my white fur coat to be the statement piece of the look. Paired with a plain salmon bodysuit to compliment the pink in the skirt and a pair of chunky heeled boots, it was the perfect girlie grunge outfit.

IV

Embroidery

My Take on it

There’s something about the combination of black and embroidery that screams my name. The darkest color paired with the most elegant embroidery patterns is the quintessential example of contrast. A big part of the Dolce & Gabbana 2016 fashion show was this trend, many other brands such as Gucci and Ellie Saab also featured this trend in their shows. I found this beautiful black embroidered skirt during my trip to Dubai on sale and it was love at first sight!

Flares

Last but not least, bell bottom pants may not be everyone’s cup of tea. I personally used to hate these because of their 90s origin, but I’ve had a newfound love for them. We’ve seen them sported by all celebs on the streets and the runway. New variations of bell bottoms are super cool, I’ve been longing to have a pair with lace up detail or a frayed two-toned hem.

& MANY MORE

Some more examples are chokers, off the shoulder, metallics, fendi fur balls, velvet, cut-out graphic band tees, fur fenty sliders, slip dresses, bomber jackets, oversized sweatshirts, over the knee boots, sock boots, fishnet tights, Gucci fur loafers, lace-up, suede, culottes etc.
